Louisville signee Derrick Caracter earned team MVP honors in a 118-102 loss to the West squad at the Roundball Classic in Chicago on Sunday afternoon...

University of Louisville signee Derrick Caracter led the East squad in Sunday's Roundball Classic in Chicago with a team-high 16 points and added 3 rebounds to earn team MVP honors.

Caracter, who was left off of the recent McDonald's game roster, told InsideTheVille.com's Evan Daniels following the 118-102 loss to the West team, that he used the perceived snub as motivation heading into today's all-star event.

"I want to thank Bob Gibbons and everyone else that voted for the McDonalds game because that really motivated me," said Caracter, who spoke with U of L head coach Rick Pitino on the phone moments following the game.

Fellow Cardinal signee Earl Clark, who did participate in the March 29th McDonalds All-American game, added 15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in the loss.
