Bolingbrook (Ill.) High School running back Dale Martin also took in the Cardinals practice and scrimmage inside the Trager Center on Saturday.
"It was nice," he said of his unofficial visit. "It was a real good atmosphere and they really got after it like it was a real game."
Martin, who will be a three-year starter and rushed for 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior, has received a scholarship offer from Louisville. Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Mississippi, Northwestern, Purdue and Toledo have also extended offers to the 5-foot-11, 195-pound back.
"After I visited there Louisville is one of the one's at the top," said Martin. "Them and probably Iowa are the top two because of the visits I had."
He added that the opportunity to compete for early playing time at U of L is a point of interest as well.
"If I went to Louisville I would have a chance to play because a couple running backs are leaving after this year."
"I'm starting to lean towards making my decision before the season starts," he said. "I won't pick a school just to get it done. It has to feel right and it could go into my season or later if I don't know for sure, but I think I'd like to be done before the season does start."
Martin earned All-State and All-Area honors following his junior season.
