Leaders emerge for Jacksonville receiver

Two Big East Conference programs make his early list of favorites

With early scholarship offers in hand from Louisville and Western Michigan, as well as heavy interest continuing from programs such as Central Florida, Miami, South Carolina and West Virginia, receiver Tray Herndon is slowly developing a list of favorites.

"I'm still pretty open, but right now I'd say my top three are Louisville, Miami and West Virginia," he said. "Louisville and Miami are at the top."

Herndon missed a scheduled visit with Louisville for the program's junior day last weekend due to a track meet, but said that it's become a team that he enjoys to watch.

"They have a real high-powered offense and I love to watch them play when they are on tv," he said.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound receiver pulled in 29 catches for 679 yards and 9 touchdowns as a junior for The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla.

"I use my speed when I play," he said. "I have tight routes and good hands."
