Blackson impressed with Louisville visit

Jerrod Blackson, a talented linebacker prospect from Camden, New Jersey, is receiving interest from a host of Big Ten and Big East programs. Blackson recently made an unofficial visit to Louisville, and seems to have high interest in the Cardinals.

Jerrod Blackson, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound athlete, from Camden N.J. is a talented prospect who could project as a linebacker or defensive end on the next level.

"I always try to play hard. Last year was my first year to play linebacker, the years before that I was always a defensive end. I feel I did pretty good," Blackson explained.

Blackson has yet to pick up his first scholarship offer, but he has caught the eye of many solid football programs.

"I am receiving interest from Louisville, Penn State, Iowa, and Rutgers. Iowa seems to be really interested in me. They send me a lot of letters and stuff like that."

"I just took an unofficial visit to U of L. I toured the facilities. I saw the stadium and the weight room. After that, they had a scrimmage. It was nice," Blackson said.

As a junior, Blackson compiled 73 tackles and seven sacks. Blackson will participate in the Scout.Com All-American Combine at Rutgers University on Sunday.
