Prospects visiting for Spring Game

Dozens of high school prospects, including Prattville (Ala.) High School quarterback Larry Smith, will be on hand for the Cardinals Friday night Red-White spring game...

While it won't resemble the more then 100 prospects that made unofficial visits with the University of Louisville football program on Junior Day, there will be a few dozen that visit Friday night for the annual Red-White spring game.

Kaelin Ammons
Franklin County High School (Frankfort)

Led his team in passing and rushing yards, earning honorable mention All-State honors. He threw for 3,355 yards and 41 touchdowns, while also rushing for 836 yards and 15 additional scores ... All State Class 3A, 3-time All-Region, 3-time All-District, 3-time All-County and 3-time Team MVP ... recorded 81 tackles and 2 interceptions as a junior.

Chase Minnifield
Henry Clay High School (Lexington)
6'0, 180
As a junior at Henry Clay, Minnifield recorded 5 interceptions, returning one for a score, while also finishing the season as the team's third leading receiver. The son of former Louisville Cardinal and Cleveland Brown great Frank Minnifield, Chase earned First Team All-City and All-District honors last fall.

Monroe County High School (Tompkinsville)

Imposing lineman, who also attended U of L's Junior Day, already holds scholarship offers from Kentucky, Louisville and Vanderbilt.

Murphy recorded 77 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and eight sacks during his junior season and participated in the Alabama Junior All-State game. He has collected scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Louisville, Mississippi and Texas.

Nathan Newland
Franklin County High School (Frankfort)

Newland was an All-State Class 3A, All-Region, All-District and All-County as a junior, recording 40 tackles, 8 for loss.

Chris Shiverdecker
Alcoa High School (Alcoa, TN)

Transferred to Alcoa High School prior to his junior season where he rushed for 617 yards and 11 touchdowns on 67 carries as a reserve, while as a sophomore at 5A Jefferson County (Tenn.) High School, he was among the top rushers in the state, gaining nearly 1,800 yards.

Prattville High School (Prattville, AL)

Smith passed for 2,005 yards with 18 touchdowns and only two interceptions during his junior season. Louisville was the first to offer the talented quarterback.

Jamison Wadley

Wadley recorded 168 tackles, 10.5 sacks, 27 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, five knockdown passes and one safety during his junior campaign.
