"I'm enjoying it," Freeman said of the recruiting process.
After a strong junior season, which ended one game short of the state championship last fall, coaches have started making his school in Alexander City, Alabama a must stop.
The Cardinals program is scheduled to watch Freeman during his school's spring practice drills this week, while Alabama and Ole Miss made visits on Monday.
Playing inside linebacker as a junior, Freeman totaled 100 tackles, including an amazing 52 tackles for loss and 8 sacks.
"Some coaches tell me that they are looking at me as an athlete and some say linebacker," he said. "It doesn't really matter to me as long as I'm on the field."
While he admits that it is still very early, Freeman does list three schools that currently top his list.
"Florida State, Auburn and Louisville," said Freeman. Auburn and Louisville have offered and Florida State said that I should be looking for an offer soon."
As for his interest in the Cardinals, Freeman said that he could see himself playing in the Red and Black.
"I like Louisville a lot," he explained. "One of my former teammates Jon Russell, who is actually my cousin, is up there. They send me a lot of stuff in the mail. They're a real good team and I could see myself playing up there."
However, he's in no rush to make a decision.
"It's still real early and I haven't really thought about it," Freeman said of a potential decision. "I'm probably going to wait until after the season."
For the time being he'll continue to work with his teammates in hopes of reaching the state finals this year.
"Since I'm a senior this year I have to be a leader and work hard so others will," he said. "I think we'll pretty good and can win it all this year."
Freeman hopes to camp at Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Louisville and LSU during the coming months.
