Cards vying for Indianapolis receiver

While he plays in a run-dominated offense, 6'5, 225-pound wide receiver Adrien Robinson is preparing to help defend his team's third consecutive Indiana 5A State title and despite having few catches as a junior, it hasn't stopped college coaches from taking notice...

6-foot-5, 225-pound wide receiver Adrein Robinson of Indianapolis Warren Central saw limited opportunities in a run dominated offense last fall, but that hasn't kept college coaches from taking notice.

"I have offers from IU, West Virginia, Marshall, Arkansas and Louisville," said Robinson on Wednesday.

While his list of scholarship offers is sure to continue to climb throughout the summer, Robinson admits that Louisville's came as a surprise.

"I've had it for awhile now," he said of his early offer from U of L. "It was actually the first one that I got and it took me by surprise. Their coach told me that they were going to offer, but it wasn't until my coach told me that they did that I realized that they actually did. It was like I didn't believe it at first - it was a surprise."

Iowa, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Ohio State and Ole Miss are among those also expressing interest.

"I'm going to visit Ohio State this weekend," said Robinson, who visited West Virginia a few weeks ago. "I also know that I'm going to visit Georgia Tech and Georgia on the 8th and 9th of July. I want to go to Louisville too. I haven't been there before, but my coach said that it's nice."

Robinson admits that it's still early in the recruiting process and that he doesn't consider anyone a favorite at this point.

"I don't have any (favorites)," he said. "I'd like to find a school where I can fit in - a good atmosphere and good academics."

Robinson will attend the All-American combine at Louisville on May 20.
