The Cardinal staff continues to look just north of the Ohio River and recently offered a scholarship to Lakota West defensive end Solomon Thomas. Who else is seeking the services of this impressive prospect from southern Ohio? has the latest including video highlights from a strong junior campaign.

After finding success at Lakota West High School last fall with the recruitment and eventual signing of four-star receiver Josh Chichester, the University of Louisville coaching staff is again looking towards the school located in the Greater Cincinnati area.

6-foot-6, 225-pound defensive end prospect Solomon Thomas has the size, speed and play-making ability that has made him one of the more sought-after prospects in the state of Ohio and region.

"Solomon has offers from Boston College, North Carolina State, Louisville, Illinois, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Miami of Ohio and Akron," Lakota West head coach Larry Cox told on Tuesday. "He got the one from Louisville about two weeks ago."

As a junior, Thomas registered 58 tackles, including 30 solo stops, 13 tackles for a loss and 7 sacks, earning second team All-State, first team All-County and All-GMC honors.

However, despite the heavy interest in his standout defensive end, Cox says that a favorite has yet to emerge from the pack.

"He liked getting the offer from Louisville a lot, because I'd say that they are one of his favorites," said Cox. "He doesn't really have any favorites so to speak though."

Thomas made an unofficial visit with Illinois in April and hopes to visit Louisville, Ohio State and others over the summer months.
