Rated the No. 39 prospect in the Class of 2006, Thabeet has risen dramatically up the recruiting charts this spring. He made an official visit to Connecticut in March and visited Cincinnati last weekend. Those two schools have been the presumed front-runners all along, and the visit to Cincinnati only helped the Bearcats cause.
"It went well," Thabeet's coach, Mark McClannahan, said of his trip to Cincinnati. "He liked the campus and the facilities. He really liked everything about Cincinnati."
In fact, the visit to UC went so well Thabeet is seriously contemplating ending the recruiting process.
"I don't know if he's going to make any other visits before he makes a decision," McClannahan told InsideTheVille.com Thursday morning. "He's getting weary of the whole recruiting process."
Louisville, however, is making a hard late pitch to get Thabeet on campus for a visit. McClannahan said he and Thabeet would sit down Thursday afternoon to decide whether the big man wants to end things with his recruitment or take one more visit before deciding.
"Louisville is trying to set up a visit right now," said McClannahan. "If he makes another visit it would be to Louisville. If he doesn't decide (soon), he might take that visit."
