The 6'9 power forward, who's expected to be a major contributor as a freshman on the Cardinals frontline this coming season, was spotted by a trusted source on the Louisville campus Wednesday morning, toting back-pack and books while walking with fellow freshman guard Jerry Smith and junior forward Juan Palacios.
"He already looks like he's lost a lot of weight," the source said.
Smith, the Wisconsin Player of the Year, also just arrived on the U of L campus in time for the start of the second summer school session. Like Caracter, Smith figures to play an important role as a freshman.
Caracter and Smith join freshman point guard Edgar Sosa on campus. Sosa arrived in town last month to begin preparing for his first season with the Cardinals. Now, apparently, Rick Pitino is waiting only on 6'9 Earl Clark to make it to campus. A McDonald's All-American, Clark isn't listed as currently being enrolled at U of L on the school's website.
Palacios recently returned from his native Columbia, and told our source his foot is feeling quite well these days.
