Vic Anderson makes statement in first outing

Scout.com Midwest Hot 100 member Victor Anderson takes first carry 70-yards for a touchdown in the Louisville St.Xavier scrimmage win at Scott County on Friday evening. Anderson was No.2 preseason in the Best of the Bluegrass.

St.X RB Vic Anderson exploded for a big run on his first opportunity during the Tigers first scrimmage of the season. The Scout.com Midwest Hot 100 member ran for 70 yards and a score on the second play of the controlled scrimmage at Scott County. He finished the contest - a St.X win - with an estimated 8 carries for 110 yards.

Despite missing two games due to an injury, Anderson rushed for over 1,500 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior and earned First Team All-State honors. His impressive 8.1 yards per carry average helped St. X to once again reach the Class 4A state finals.

* Senior DE Bradley Schmitt had a solid outing, totaling 5 tackles on the night. Scott County's running attack couldn't muster a yard on his side of the line.

* Senior WR Daniel Passafiume recorded one reception for about 8-10 yards.

* 6'5, 250-pound junior defensive tackle Matt Smith is an emerging prospect that ITV will be keeping tabs on this fall.

* Sophomore receiver Will Simmons had a solid debut with 3 catches for 80 yards and a score.

* Junior power back Duece Finch did not play due to a broken thumb.
