Stars come out for Cards Saturday practice

The top two prospects in the River City, as well as in the Bluegrass State, were on hand for the 13th-ranked University of Louisville Cardinals second practice of the 2006 college football season..... three-star running back Victor Anderson was on the sidelines for Louisville's second day of fall camp on Saturday afternoon. Cardinal head coach Bobby Petrino took a couple minutes to visit with the 5-foot-9, 182-pound All-State performer.

The Midwest Hot 100 member had a solid outing in a scrimmage against Scott County on Friday, rushing for 110 yards on just 8 carries. He took his first carry of the night 70 yards for a touchdown.

Also taking in the Cardinals second practice of the season was four-star wide receiver Doug Beaumont of Louisville Male High School.

Rated among the top 30 receivers in the nation, Beaumont had a strong outing in a recent scrimmage against Franklin (Tenn.) High School. The all-purpose athlete totaled 2 interceptions, returning one for a touchdown, while also shining on the offensive side of the ball, where he added second score.
