VIDEO: 2006 Cardinal Kickoff Luncheon

In front of a capacity crowd at the KICC in downtown Louisville, the U of L football program held its annual kickoff luncheon on Friday afternoon. InsideTheVille.com was on hand and returned with video highlights.

Following a one-hour practice on Friday morning, the University of Louisville Cardinal football team loaded the team buses to make the short trip downtown for the program's annual kickoff luncheon.

U of L athletic director Tom Jurich and head coach Bobby Petrino addressed the capacity crowd that numbered near 1,600.

Jurich spoke of the marching band and how it's now the largest in the school's history, he shared his thoughts on the program's first year in the Big East Conference and more.

Bobby Petrino spoke to the red and black clad Cardinal fans for nearly 15 minutes. The forth-year head coach talked about the excitement the fans have shown during the open practices and the team pancake breakfast. He also made mention of his strong group of assistant coaches and their families, before ending with a description of three things that the players have focused on since returning from the Gator Bowl in January.
