Cards strong with Koshwal after visit

Mac Koshwal, a 6'9, 240 pound center from Boys to Men Academy in Chicago, came away impressed with Louisville after making an unofficial visit over the weekend. Rated the No. 5 center prospect nationally, Koshwal has a few more visits lined up. Where does Louisville stand? has the latest.

While George Goode picked Louisville over the weekend after making an official visit, another prospect, Mac Koshwal, also had Rick Pitino's attention.

Koshwal, who attends Boys to Men Academy in Chicago, returned home Sunday after making an unofficial visit to the U of L campus.

And while Koshwal didn't immediately cast his lot with Louisville - as Goode did - the Cardinals appear firmly in the mix with the 6'9, 240 pound center.

"He liked it," said Koshwal's coach, Loren Jackson . "The visit went well. He really liked Louisville a lot."

Koshwal had already made unofficial visits to DePaul and Marquette before visiting Louisville over the weekend. He's also slated to visit Southern California (9/1), Tennessee (9/15) and LSU (9/22) next month.

Where does Louisville stand?

"They're pretty strong," Jackson said. "He liked Louisville a whole lot."

Ranked the No. 5 center prospect nationally by, Koshwal enjoyed an outstanding summer, earning a spot in the All-Star game at the Reebok ABCD Camp in July.

"Louisville really started to get interested in him over the summer," Jackson said.

During his visit to Louisville, Koshwal was able to watch the Cardinals practice several times. Louisville is preparing for a three game Canadian tour next week.

"He likes Coach Pitino's style of play," Jackson said. "Louisville's style is very similar to how we play and it would be a very easy transition for him."
