Barnes favors two after Louisville visit

Mark Barnes, a five-star wide receiver/safety, came away impressed by his official visit to Louisville ove the weekend. Barnes watched Louisville defeat Miami, 31-7, and spoke with InsideTheVille.com Sunday afternoon while traveling to his home in South Carolina.

Louisville's 31-7 victory over Miami could prove to pay more dividends than simply a boost in the national polls for the Cardinals.

Cardinals' coach Bobby Petrino and staff hosted a number of prospects over the weekend, including five-star wide receiver/safety Mark Barnes.

InsideTheVille.com briefly spoke with the 6'3, 210 pound standout as he traveled back to his South Carolina home Sunday afternoon.

"It was a pretty good visit," Barnes said. "The place and the fans were just crazy. I was definitely surprised by the score."

Louisville's impressive performance against the Hurricanes has Barnes thinking that Louisville just might be a good fit for him.

"I thought it was going to be a close game, but Louisville pulled away and that type of play motivates me to think that Louisville is the type of team I could play for," Barnes said.

Barnes said he still might visit Notre Dame, USC and South Carolina. Still, two teams appear to standout.

"Louisville and South Carolina are my top two right now," said Barnes. "I sat down with each of the coaches on my visit to Louisville and the thing that shocked me was how competitive all of them are."

When will Barnes make a decision?

"When my heart tells me, I'll let the world know," Barnes said.
