Montari Leonard names co-favorites

Montari Leonard is one of the most explosive wide receivers in Florida. A cousin of Louisville freshman Johnny Patrick, Leonard ran a 4.28-forty at Florida State's summer camp. Leonard has plenty of college options and he's just named a pair of favorites. Which two schools lead for Leonard?

"Right now we're 6-0 with Seminole this week," Leonard said. "Our goal is still to win the district title and then win the state title."

Leonard, 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds, is having a solid season himself.

"I have 17 catches for 200 and some yards and two touchdowns so far," he said. "I also returned a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown last week. Things have been going well."

On the recruiting front, Leonard has been getting some action and says he's real close to setting up some visits.

"I'm trying to do that real soon," he said. "I'm supposed to be setting one up to Louisville real soon. They offered me recently and right now, they're number two on my list behind Wisconsin."

The standout receiver said he talks to coaches from both programs on a regular basis.

"They call every week," he said. "I like them both and just have to take visits there to see what it's like. Louisville is a little closer to home but I still have Wisconsin at the top."

Another school that might crawl into considering is the University of South Florida.

"My receivers coach told me they just offered (Thursday night)," he said. "I don't really know much about them."
