A three-star prospect by Scout.com in the Class of 2007, Dia has narrowed his college choices down to three schools – Oklahoma, Louisville and SMU. Dia has already made official visits to Norman and Dallas, and will make his decision after taking his final official visit to U of L this weekend.
The Cardinals are the presumed leader for Dia's services and could wrap up a commitment from the 240-pound power forward during his official visit. "I think (Louisville) will wrap it up with him this weekend," said Scout.com/FoxSports.com analyst Jeff Goodman.
If Dia picks Louisville, he would join George Goode, a 6'8, 210-pound forward from Raytown, Missouri, as the second prospect from the Class of 2007 to verbally commit to the Cardinals. Goode is rated the No. 73 prospect nationally by Scout.com.
The Cardinals appear to have three scholarships available for the 2007-08 season. Earlier this week, Pitino said his program could fill each of those available roster spots for next season.
"We'll probably sign two or three or four (this year)," Pitino said.
