Wallace, a Scout.com Top 100 prospect from Kernersville, North Carolina, had been trying to set up a visit to Gainesville this weekend, but it doesn't appear the athletic forward will be heading south to visit Billy Donovan's crew. Nor does it appear likely he'll visit Louisville before the start of the early signing period next week.
"We had to postpone the trip to Florida," Monty Wallace told InsideTheVille.com Tuesday night. "We haven't been able to lock down a date with either Florida or Louisville."
Though Wallace made a visit to Columbus two weeks ago, it appears likely he'll wait until next spring to make a college decision. "It's possible he could decide early, but it's probably not likely," Wallace said.
Louisville coach Rick Pitino told the media two weeks ago that his program could sign up to four players from the Class of 2007. The Cardinals already have two verbal commitments from George Goode, a 6'8 forward from Raytown, MO., and Clarence Holloway, a 7'1 center from Chicago.
And while Wallace's father has stated recently that his son is focused on Ohio State, Florida and Louisville, it doesn't sound like the Cardinals have been heavily involved in Wallace's recruitment since he de-committed from Virginia.
"I haven't heard very much from Louisville lately," Wallace said, noting that the Cardinals coaches hadn't visited Hargrave this fall to check up on his son.
