Louisville, 8-0, jumped two spots, from No. 5, in the new BCS poll. The Cardinals face another tough Big East test this week on the road Thursday against undefeated Rutgers. Rutgers, also 8-0 on the season, is ranked 13th in the BCS standings, while West Virginia fell to No. 10 after falling to Louisville 44-34.
Louisville also moved up to No. 3 in both the Associated Press and Harris polls. The Cardinals, however, moved up just one spot in the USA Today Coaches poll to No. 4. One-loss Texas, with a lower strength of schedule than Louisville, is 15 votes ahead of Louisville in the coaches poll.
The Harris and Coaches polls each account for 1/3 of the BCS formula. Six computer ratings account for the final third in the BCS' formula.
