While Blinn (Tex.) C.C. defensive end Alex Cook won't turn his attention towards finding a new school until after his current team finishes their season, the Scout.com four-star prospect did tell InsideTheVille.com that three lead for his services. Who are they? ITV has the latest...
After finishing the regular season with 53 total tackles, including ten for a loss and nine sacks, Blinn (Tex.) Community College defensive end Alex Cook
is gearing up for his final game on the junior college level. This Saturday Blinn College, which finished the season ranked No.1 in the NJCAA poll, will play in the Pilgrim's Pride Bowl Classic for the NJCAA national championship.
"Everybody's getting ready for the game," said Cook on Monday. "I'm approaching this game like it is any other game. I just have to go out there and do my thing."
While he's trying to stay focused on the upcoming title game, plenty of college coaches are focusing on the 6'3, 225-pound Cook.
"All of the one's that have offered are calling," he said. "Tennessee came by and Southern Miss probably calls the most."
Cook currently holds scholarship offers from Arkansas, Hawaii, Iowa State, Louisville, Oklahoma State, Southern Miss, Tennessee and UTEP.
"Arkansas, Florida and Louisville," said Cook when asked about current favorites. "I'm going to visit all three of them and then one more. I might visit Southern Miss or Hawaii."
Despite the shortened list of favorites, Cook points out that he's not in a rush to make a decision.
"School will be over after this game, so I'm going to go back to Florida," said Cook. "I'm going to relax and get away from football for a couple days and then I'll start taking my visits."
Cook will be a May graduate.
