Florida d-lineman sets official visit

Rene Perry is one of the top defensive tackle prospects in North Florida this year and the Columbia High standout talked about the latest.

"I've been relaxing, enjoying the recruiting process," Rene Perry said. "With all the phone calls, the visits, and everything, it's been a lot of fun."

Perry, 5-foot-11 and 265 pounds, took his first visit a couple weekends ago.

"I went up to Ball State," he said. "I really liked it there. I liked the scenery. I liked the academics, the players were cool, and the facilities were nice. I could see myself playing there."

Next up for the talented defensive tackle prospect is a visit to Louisville.

"I'm going up there on January 12th," he said. "Another visit I plan on taking is South Florida. We just need to work on a date for that."

Perry said coaches from Ball State have already made in-home visits.

"Louisville is coming on Wednesday and South Florida's supposed to be coming soon," he said. "I'm gonna take my visits and then sit down and figure out where I fit in best."
