"I'm on my way to Louisville's official visit with my mom right now," Martin said. "I'm really looking forward to it. I have no idea who my host is or what is planned for the visit. I'm really interested in seeing the entire campus and see what it would be like to live there.
"I like Coach Reggie Johnson (inside linebackers) a great deal. I think he's a straightforward guy that never lies. He doesn't bother you all the time or bug the heck out of you. He's a major reason why I'm considering the Cardinals. If you don't like your coaches, you won't be happy or play well.
"All I am doing right now is collecting information to compare schools at a later date," said Scout.com's No. 22 running back. "I know I've said in the past that I might make my decision at the U.S. Army All-American Game, but I won't have my mind made up by then. This is only my second official visit. With basketball season here, it's going to be hard to fit all five visits into my schedule. I may just have to settle for four.
"I went to Iowa's official visit last weekend (December 8). It's a nice school with a good environment. They were the first to offer. I love the coaches; I've known them for a while. Coach Lester Erb (receivers/special teams) is trying to sell me on the fact that I could play early. Two senior running backs are leaving this year. It's looking like I'd be a good fit.
"I'm planning my official visit to Florida in January," Martin said. "I'm looking forward to watch how the Gators practice. Coach Stan Drayton (running backs) played in the NFL. He knows what it is going to take to get to the next level. He has first hand experience.
"I'm also planning to see the Volunteers in January. Coaches Greg Adkins (offensive line) and Kurt Roper (running backs) have been to my house a few times. From what they have told me, I'm really interested in seeing Tennessee during an official visit. I've gone unofficially during the summer, and I really liked the players. It seems like I would get along with them very well.
"I'm still deciding if I want to take a visit to Wisconsin.
"Growing up I really liked Texas," he said. "They don't really recruit outside of their state. They have a lot of great players. I never heard from them, but I expected that. They don't need to go to Illinois to recruit.
Martin's younger brother, Jeremy Martin, who also attends Bolingbrook, says that Dale has a very close relationship with his high school coach. Jeremy also states that Dale's coach is the person that Dale turns to for advice on the recruiting process.
