Pitino chasing star JUCO forward?

Theron Wilson, a high scoring 6-6 forward from Seward (KS) Community College, is filling up the stat sheet every time he takes the court this season and big-time programs are taking notice.

Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals appear to be looking toward the junior college ranks for help next season.

Pitino, whose Cardinals are off to a 7-4 start to the 2006-07 season, signed two front court players last month in 6-8 George Goode, a top 75 prospect, and 7-0 Clarence Holloway, a "project-type" center.

With only three scholarship guards returning next season, Louisville has started to inquire about Theron Wilson, an athletic 6-6, 190-pound guard/forward from Seward County (KS) Community College.

"I heard from Maryland and Wisconsin earlier this week and Louisville called my high school coach the other day asking about me," Wilson told CanesTime.com.

Wilson, a high scoring wing, is averaging 25.7 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks per game while shooting 50 percent from the floor through 13 games for Seward.
