Andre McGee sidelined with another injury

University of Louisville sophomore point guard Andre McGee had just returned to action after recovering from arthroscopic surgery

University of Louisville sophomore guard Andre McGee suffered a strained quadraceps tendon in his right leg and will be sidelined for one-to-two weeks.

The injury occurred in practice on Friday during a routine drill when McGee stepped on the foot of another player. A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination at Jewish Hospital over the weekend confirmed the injury.

McGee had just returned to action after recovering from arthroscopic surgery on Nov. 21 to repair torn cartilage in his right knee. He had five assists in the Cardinals' loss at Notre Dame last Wednesday, just the fifth game he has seen action in this season and the first since Dec. 20. He scored 16 points in 23 minutes in the Cardinals' 100-87 season-opening victory over Northwestern State.

Louisville plays at USF on Wednesday at 7 p.m. EST in its next game.
