Chichester, a talented 6-8 prospect, committed to Ohio State last year before signing with Louisville last February. Though he failed to qualify academically, Chichester spent the fall semester at Harmony Prep School in Cincinnati while preparing to enroll at Louisville this month.
Reached by phone Monday evening, Chichester re-affirmed his desire to attend U of L.
"As of right now, I plan to enroll at Louisville this Thursday," Chichester said. "Nothing has really changed for me. It was a shocker when I learned about Coach Petrino, but it was a business decision and the best for him. But I still plan to go to Louisville."
Louisville offensive coordinator Paul Petrino called Chichester Monday morning and told him the U of L coaching staff would be back in touch shortly with more details about the coaching situation in the wake of Bobby Petrino's departure to the Atlanta Falcons.
Chichester said he learned about Petrino's decision Sunday night and began researching Tulsa coach Steve Kragthorpe, the frontrunner to replace Petrino.
"He seems like a great coach," Chichester said. "He turned around Tulsa and I'm sure he'll d a great job at Louisville."
