While this weekend's group of official visitors wasn't as large as originally planned prior to the coaching change at U of L, new head coach Steve Kragthorpe and his newly assembled staff were still able to host a number of talented prospects, including Lake City, Fla., prospect Rene Perry.

"It went pretty good," said Perry, who was hosted by linebacker Terrance Butler during his time in Louisville. "I'd give it an ‘8'."

Perry, a 5-foot-10, 260-pound run-stopper, spent time visiting with the new coaching staff and touring the multiple Cardinal football facilities during his stay.

"I met the head coach first and then they took around the campus, the stadium and the weight room," said Perry, who also attended the Louisville - Providence basketball game in Freedom Hall on Saturday afternoon. "We also got to see around the town."

Perry had nothing but good things to say about his individual meeting with the new Cardinal head coach.

"He's pretty cool," he said. "He actually reminds me some of one of my coaches because he's academic first. He seemed like a pretty cool guy."

While impressed with his visit, Perry has one more trip remaining before making his college decision.

"I'll probably do it during the next couple of weeks," said Perry of his eventual college choice. "I'm going to visit South Florida this weekend and that will be my last visit."
