One week after replacing Bobby Petrino, new Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe has landed his first commitment.

While Tomczyk may not be available to talk about his decision until Friday, his mother confirmed the news of her son's choice to Scout.com.

"Yes, Greg committed to Louisville yesterday," his mother told Scout.com's Bob Lichtenfels on Thursday evening.

Greg Tomczyk, a 6-5, 290-pound OL/DL from New Jersey, chose Louisville over Washington, Missouri and others.

Tomczyk made an official visit to Louisville last weekend, and an in-home visit with Kragthorpe Wednesday night sealed the deal for the Cardinals.

A three-star prospect, Tomczyk is rated the #86 offensive tackle prospect nationally. Louisville will likely try out Tomczyk on defense first.

InsideTheVille.com will have more Tomczyk's decision on Friday.
