"It was real good. It was a lot more than I expected," said Bynes. "We took a tour of the campus, and they showed us the facilities and the weight room and stuff like that. I got to meet the coaches, and everything was real good."
The Sunshine State standout, who had never visited USC before this weekend, was admittedly surprised by the environment in Columbia and the passion for Gamecock football around the city.
"It was different than I expected. I thought it was going to be more country or something like that, but it's not. It's more of a city type environment, and it was real nice. They love the football team down there, and everything is kind of based on the football. It's very good around there, and they're going to be a good program in the next couple of years."
Bynes also hit it off with a couple of Florida natives on the Gamecock roster while on his visit.
When asked to rate his visit on a scale from one to ten, Bynes gave an enthusiastic response.
"That was a 10. I'd definitely have to give that a 10."
"All of my top four are still in there. Now that I took my last visit, I'm going to wait until Signing Day to make my decision. For the next two weeks I'm going to be sitting here relaxing and thinking about each thing I did on the visits and how I feel about the schools."
Bynes, who said that he will have no more in-home visits before his announcement, will now look for a few key factors to help differentiate between his four finalists.
"The opportunity to play is important, and I also want to be around some great players," Bynes said. "I want to go to a defense that fits me, because defense is where I'm going to be for the next four or five years.'
"Also, they have to have good coaches like the linebacker coach and the defensive coordinator. I have to be comfortable with them. Mostly it'll come down to how comfortable I am with the players and the chance for early playing time. Another thing is how comfortable I feel there. I'm from Florida, and it's a lot different than the other states. You want to feel like you're at home."
