The University of Louisville's quest to develop quality depth at every position is no clearer then at the linebacker position and after reviewing video of Norco, California prospect Jordan Campbell, 5'11, 225-pounds, the new Cardinal coaching staff has increased their efforts with the Scout.com four-star prospect.

"The old coach offered me and the new coach told me that they still wanted me, so I thought I'd go for a visit," Campbell told InsideTheVille.com on Sunday afternoon.

Despite extending his verbal commitment to USC in October, the increased attention from the new Louisville staff was enough to convince Campbell to make an official visit with the Cardinal program over the weekend.

"It was pretty fun," said Campbell. "We went to the Syracuse basketball game, toured the school, talked to the coaches and got to know some of the players. It was real nice."

During his visit with U of L head coach Steve Kragthorpe, Campbell, who visited Oregon earlier this month, learned just how important he is to the already impressive Cardinal recruiting class.

"They told me that I could possibly start there for four years at either MIKE or WILL linebacker," said Campbell. "Coach Kragthorpe told me that he loves what I can do and that he likes passionate players like me on his team."

Campbell, who began his return to the west coast just after 1:00 p.m., admits that the trip to Louisville has him thinking about his earlier commitment.

"I'm still committed to USC, but the visit did open my eyes," said Campbell.

As a senior, Campbell totaled an amazing 168 total tackles and earned 1st Team All-State honors.
