Coming off an impressive win over South Florida Saturday, the Cardinals enter tonight's game coming off one of their strongest performances of the season, shooting 68 percent in the first half and 51 percent for the game against the Bulls.
There's a bit of bad news for Louisville, however. The status of starting center David Padgett is uncertain after the 6-11 junior sprained his foot Saturday. Padgett didn't practice yesterday and will be re-evaluated today.
"We thought at first it was a fifth metatarsal fracture, or whatever they call it," Rick Pitino said. "It wasn't so we were very happy about that, so hopefully he'll be ok and can play on Monday."
His presence will be vital to Louisville's chances of winning against the favored Panthers, especially with 7'1 Aaron Gray patrolling the middle. If Padgett is limited tonight, Pitino will likely turn to 6-9 freshman Derrick Caracter.
Caracter returned to the team with a bang Saturday after missing several games, posting a double-double in a reserve role with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN.
