It hasn't been a month since the University of Louisville officially began sales for the added luxury suites and new loge seating that will come with the added deck to the east side of the stadium, yet interest and sales seem to be quite high.
When U of L director of athletics Tom Jurich provided a progress report on the expansion to the media in late January, the plan was that reservation forms from parties interested in the suites and loge seating had to be in to the Cardinal Athletic Fund by March 31, 2007. From the sounds of things, interested parties might want to hurry up.
InsideTheVille.com has learned that while only a month into their sales efforts, U of L has already sold 28 of the 45 new suites and somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 of the 2,000 available loge seating.
The current plan for the start of construction is for work to begin almost immediately following the Cardinals November 29 match-up with Rutgers. Louisville-based Luckett & Farley will team with Rosser International, based in Atlanta, Ga., one of the nation's leading stadium design firms in the country, in the construction. Both firms were involved in the original design of Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
Season tickets to see the Cardinals are sold-out, but the school is still taking reservations from those interested in purchasing seats in any of the new areas in the stadium.
