Family ties put Cards atop Florida TE's list

West Boca (Florida) High standout Nathan Nord is a member of the All-Combine Team from the event in South Florida over the weekend. Nord, the son of former Louisville offensive coordinator Gary Nord, has a favorite in the recruiting process.

Nathan Nord had something to prove over the weekend at the Combine in Davie. After missing most of his junior season because of injury, he wanted to prove that he's healthy again.

"I got injured during my sophomore year," Nord said. "I ended up coming back with four games left last season. I had a growth plate fracture. I only played defense so I wanted to show what I could do at tight end. I wanna play some offense this year."

Nord was very impressive on Saturday. He checked in at 6-foot-6 and 210 pounds and ran a 4.69/40 and had a 33-inch vertical leap.

"I'm a big guy with speed and that's a tough combo to find," he said. "What position I play in college doesn't matter. I just want to play."

The son of Florida Atlantic offensive coordinator Gary Nord, Nathan is already getting interest from college coaches.

"No offers yet," he said. "A lot of schools are showing interest though. I like Louisville, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, N.C. State, and a few others."

The Cardinal are at the top of his list at this point in the process.

"I really like Louisville," he said. "My dad went there. My uncle coaches there and I have a lot of family that lives there. That would be a great opportunity for me if they were to offer."
