Louisville interested in Georgia DE

College Park, Georgia defensive end prospect Steven Fowlkes has collected early scholarship offers from Big 10 and SEC programs. Video from Fowlkes junior season included in this Scout.com update.

Defensive end Steven Fowlkes of Banneker High School picked up division one offer number two late last week.

"Mississippi State offered me last Thursday," said Fowlkes. "They just started recruiting me here the past week or two. I haven't been down there yet, but I hear it's a good SEC school."

Coach David Turner is recruiting Steven for Mississippi State. The Bulldogs join Purdue as schools offering a scholarship. Fowlkes believes a few other offers may soon be on the way.

"I think Alabama and Auburn are going to offer," said Steven. "I hear from both of them a lot. I just got a text message from Louisville too. They are talking real good right now too. They said they really like my highlight tape and want to see more of me."

Fowlkes reports that location will not be a major factor in his decision, but the chance to get on the field early will be.

"I am looking for some playing time, but I know that I probably won't get to play much as a freshman," said Steven. "I just want a place where I can fit in and have the chance to get on the field before too long."
