JC OL holds Louisville offer

Reedley (Calif.) Community College offensive lineman Abdul Kuyateh, who recently added a third scholarship offer, tells InsideTheVille.com that he's "very interested" in the Cardinal program.

After playing at Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia and originally signing to play at West Georgia University, Abdul Kuyateh wound up in California to play at Reedley Community College. Now measuring in at 6-foot-3, 293-pounds, the junior college offensive lineman has started to draw the interest and scholarship offers from a number of major programs.

"Louisville, Kentucky, Iowa State, Toledo, Bowling Green, Texas A&M and California are some of the schools that I'm hearing from," Kuyateh told InsideTheVille.com. "Iowa State, Louisville and Kentucky have offered me a scholarship."

U of L offensive line coach Brent Myers recently made the trip west to visit with Kuyateh.

"They seem really interested in me," Kuyateh said. "I like Louisville a lot and I'm very interested in what they have to offer."

Iowa State was the latest to offer and is likely to receive an unofficial visit over the summer.

"I might go visit Iowa State next month," Kuyateh said. "I'm not sure yet when I'll make any other visits, but I am going to visit Louisville and Kentucky."

While he's excited to have a trio of scholarship offers already in hand, Kuyateh explains that he's in no rush to make a college choice.

"I haven't even started to think about that yet," he explained. "Right now I'm focused on bringing a championship to Reedley."
