Ahmed Shakoor commits to Louisville

Ahmed Shakoor visited Georgia Tech and Louisville this weekend, camping at U of L on Sunday. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound cornerback from Stone Mountain, Georgia liked what he saw from Louisville and made a decision about his future.

Ahmed Shakoor, a 5-foot-11 cornerback from Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia, verbally committed to Louisville Sunday afternoon.

Shakoor, who particpated in Louisville's camp Sunday, picked the Cardinals over Virginia Tech, East Carolina, Marshall and Louisiana Tech. He also visited Georgia Tech this weekend and was receiving interest from Clemson and Auburn.

According to Scout.com affiliate GAVSV.com, Shakoor received his offer from Louisville during his visit Sunday.

As a junior, Shakoor, who was clocked at 4.5 in the forty at the Nike Camp in Atlanta, recorded 47 tackles and intercepted one pass.

Shakoor becomes Louisville's second verbal commitment in the Class of 2008, joining Pittsburgh, PA QB Tino Sunseri.
