Colorado was his most recent offer, while Big East Conference members Connecticut, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and West Virginia are among his heavy suitors. 6-foot-4, 266-pound three-star prospect is keeping a rather busy schedule of late visiting as many schools as he can.
"I just got back from Minnesota and Iowa," Ramsey told InsideTheVille.com on Wednesday evening. "I have visited Vanderbilt, Connecticut and of course Pittsburgh. I'm leaving for Boston College and Syracuse on Friday. I'm going down to Indiana and Louisville in July and I'm also going to try to visit Georgia Tech in July."
Ramsey, who began his high school career at quarterback, has a number of items on his checklist when making his many unofficial visits.
"I want to see what the campus is like and how the school's academics are," Ramsey said. "I want to get to know the coaches and the players and see what type of environment I would be in if I went to that school.
The younger brother of former Notre Dame fullback Jason Murray, Ramsey is no stranger to the recruiting process.
"I kind of new what to expect," Ramsey said. "You're never completely ready for it, but seeing my brother go through it before helped me know what to expect."
With his offer sheet now up to 16 and sure to continue to climb, Ramsey is in no rush to make his college decision.
"Right now I am pretty much wide open," Ramsey said. "I don't really have any favorites at the moment. I want to take these visits so I can weigh the pros and cons of each place and then try to have a top five before the start of the season. I'll probably commit before the end of the season."
Ramsey, who also plays and is being recruited by some as a tight end, totaled nearly 90 tackles as a junior. the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds, bench presses 350 pounds and squats 450 pounds.
