Samardo Samuels, a Louisville commit, was named MVP of the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, VA., after leading his team – the Spurs – to the camp's Gold Championship.

The 6-foot-8, 245-pound Samuels put on an impressive display at the NBPA camp, finishing as the camps seventh-leading scorer (11.3 points per game) and one of the events top rebounders.

"It was no surprise to this writer that Samuels was named the NBPA Top 100 Camp MVP," wrote CSTV.com recruiting analyst Van Coleman. "Not only did he lead his team to the camp championship, but he was one of the top two or three-rated performers each of the three days I was in Charlottesville. His steady, high level of play was rewarded at the end of the week."

Samuels shining moment came late in the camp, when he dominated 7-foot B.J. Mullens, an Ohio State commit and Scout.com's No. 9-rated player nationally, in the post.
