Three elite programs remain for Czyz

Olek Czyz, Scout.com's No. 77 rated prospect, has narrowed his list down to three elite programs. Rick Pitino made the 6-foot-7, 235-pound power forward a priority last month, tracking the four-star prospect all over the country. Did Pitino's hard work pay off? Is Louisville in Czyz final three?

According to a source close to the situation, Olek Czyz has narrowed his list to an elite final three, according to Scout.com analyst Evan Daniels.

Czyz, a talented 6-foot-7, 235-pound forward from Reno, NV, is now considering Duke, Florida and Louisville.

A native of Poland, Czyz has earned a national reputation for himself this summer. An extremely athletic forward, Czyz possesses a 40 inch vertical leap and averaged 19 points and 8 rebounds per game as a junior at Reno High, the same school that Louisville senior center David Padgett attended.

Rick Pitino made Czyz a top priority recruit in July, keeping a watchful eye on the four-star prospect in Las Vegas late last month. Rated the No. 77 prospect nationally and the 19th best power forward, Czyz made an unofficial visit to Louisville earlier this summer.

"Louisville is a great program," Czyz told InsideTheVille.com recently. "I love the coach and the facilities that are coming up are going to be great. I really like Louisville."

Louisville faces strong competition to land Czyz in Florida and Duke. The Gators, who hope to sign two more interior prospects in this class, have won the past two NCAA championships. And Duke, they've been one of the nation's top programs for the last 20 years.

Czyz, who will return to his native country for a few weeks before school resumes, is expected to schedule official visits to his three finalists before making a decision this fall.

Czyz also held offers from Kansas, Washington State, Gonzaga, Arizona State and Kentucky before narrowing his list.
