Is Louisville on Monroe's in-home visit list?

Louisville already has a verbal commitment from Scout.com No. 1 rated center prospect in the Class of 2008 – Samardo Samuels. Do the Cardinals have a shot at Scout.com's No. 1 power forward – and the No. 1 overall prospect - as well?

Only Greg Monroe and a few close friends and family members know the answer to that question.

Information about the 6-9 forward's recruitment has been difficult to come by lately. The big man isn't doing interviews and those close to him aren't divulging much information, either. Duke, LSU, Louisville, Georgetown, Kansas, Texas, Kentucky and Southern California each figure to be under consideration.

We do know this much about Monroe's recruitment: Next up for the versatile Monroe are a slew of in-home visits. Those visits – where college coaches will have the opportunity to make their recruiting pitches in person at Monroe's home - will be important. Why? Those in-homes will likely have a direct bearing on which schools will receive official visits.

"He's set up 8 of them next month," Monroe's high coach Tyrone Mouzon told Scout.com's Dave Telep. "After he does his home visits, he'll narrow it down to 4-5 schools to do official visits. He and his family asked me not to give the information out as to who is coming in for home visits."

Monroe will welcome college coaches to his home during the month of September, then he'll set out to make his own visits before settling on a college program.

"They'll all be done by Sept. 22. He's actually got 2 visits in one day," Mouzon said. " Then, the following week he's going to sit down and make his list (for official visits)."
