Darius Ashley, a three-star running back from Cincinnati, Ohio, made his college decision Monday night after narrowing his choices down to Louisville and Virginia.

Scout.com has confirmed that the 5'9, 180-pound Ashley verbally committed to Louisville, becoming the ninth prospect in the Class of 2008 to commit to the Cardinals.

"Darius and I were planning on going down to Louisville this past weekend. But our coaches gave us a couple of days off and we wanted to use it to make sure we got ourselves ready for the playoffs," Stephon Ball, Ashley's high school teammate and best friend, told Scout.com's Dave Berk. "Darius did make his commitment tonight to the Louisville coaches. In fact I'm talking with him on the phone right now."

Ashley, rated the No. 64 running back prospect in the country, is a great runner out of the spread, brings great vision to the field and has the ability to hit a second gear with a quick step, according to Berk.
