Louisville is expecting things from Earl Clark this season. Monday against Carleton, the 6'9 sophomore forward made only 2 of 12 shots and struggled on offense. After the game, InsideTheVille.com's Josh Cook caught up with Clark for this locker room report.

Big things are expected this season from Clark, the 6-foot-9 sophomore forward from Plainfield , N.J. He averaged 5.9 points and 3.8 rebounds as a freshman and really came on late in the season. At the recent Big East media day UofL coach Rick Pitino said that Clark, known as "E-5" to coaches and teammates, could be NBA-bound after this season.

Clark scored five points and grabbed seven rebounds in 22 minutes of action in UofL's 82-49 exhibition win over Carleton University Monday night. Coming off the bench, Clark was very aggressive offensively, taking a team-high 12 shots, but he only hit two - a three-pointer and a dunk. He also finished with three blocks, two steals and an assist.

After the game, InsideTheVille.com spoke with the talented Clark in the locker room:

ITV: You looked like you were trying to be aggressive tonight, what were you trying to get done on the court?

Earl Clark struggled with his offense
against Carleton.
Clark: Just rebound really, and get in a rhythm. I think I rebounded well. I blocked a couple of shots. That's about it.

ITV: What are your expectations for this season?

Clark: I think this is the year. We're one of the best classes in the country. Some people still sleep on us, but I think everything will take care of itself. We're just trying to go out and win games.

ITV: Do you and your sophomore classmates look at Florida's ‘04 class as an example of what you guys can do?

Clark: We definitely look at it. That's something you got to look at. Like I said, we just want to come out, play hard and win. Because everybody in the country wants to win a championship, we just want to get out there and out-hustle everybody.

ITV: What do you think about your game right now?

Clark: I think it's coming along well. I think tonight there's some shots I should've hit that I didn't, but I'm not worried about that we won the game. I was just worried about rebounding and playing defense really.
