Pitino hosts four-star junior forward

One of the nation's top-ranked juniors made an unofficial visit to Louisville Saturday to watch the Cardinals defeat Miami (OH) 47-44. Who visited Rick Pitino's program? InsideTheVille.com has the scoop.

Rakeem Buckles, a 6'9 junior forward from Miami, Florida, made an unofficial visit to Louisville Saturday.

Buckles, accompanied by his high school coach, was in attendance at Freedom Hall Saturday to watch the No. 10 Cards defeat Miami (OH) 47-44. The 190-pound Buckles sat across from the UofL bench just down from AD Tom Jurich's suite.

Buckles, a four-star prospect from Class of 2009, is one of the Cardinals top targets in the junior class. Last month, Mark Lieberman, Buckles' high school coach, told InsideTheVille.com that Louisville is the early favorite for his star player.

"Louisville would probably be at the top of the list – they're real excited about him," Lieberman said. "They saw him play this summer for the Florida Rams team and they really liked what they saw. Since then they've shown the most interest."

Buckles has offers from Louisville, Florida State and Miami. Georgia Tech, Kansas, UConn and Kansas State are showing strong interest.
