Kion Wilson, a 6'0, 230-pound linebacker from Pearl River (MS) C.C., made an official visit to Louisville this weekend. Wilson (pictured above), a four-star strong-side linebacker, verbally committed to South Florida last month but apparently is keeping his options open.
Originally from Jacksonville, FL, Wilson recorded 98 tackles, 7 TFL's, 1 sack, and 2 forced fumbles this season. In 2006 as a freshman, he racked up 117 tackles, 2 INT's, 6 sacks and a defensive touchdown.
Jones County (MS) C.C. teammates Jeremiah Price and Justin Matthews also made official visits. Price, a 6'3, 245-pound defensive end, and Matthews, a 6'1, 205-pound safety, both are from Mississippi. Price recorded 9.5 sacks as a sophomore this season.
Louisville commit Byron Stingily made his official visit to U of L this weekend. Stingily, a 6'6, 295-pound offensive lineman, verbally committed to Louisville last month. He'll graduate from Joliet (IL) College this month and plans to enroll at UofL in January.
Sam Robey, a three-star OL/DL, from Louisville Trinity, also was in attendance. Robey has attended several Louisville football games this season. One of the top prospects in Kentucky, Robey is considering, UK, Purdue and Florida.
Another Louisville commit, Tino Sunseri, was also in attendance. Sunseri, a 6'0, 200-pound three-star quarterback from Pittsburgh, is considered a soft commit and is also considering Boston College and Pittsburgh.
The recruits sat in the student section behind the north end zone for Saturday's basketball game against Miami (OH). Assistant coaches Brent Myers, Greg Nord and Mike Mallory sat with the recruits. Several UofL players, including Doug Beaumont and George Bussey, served as recruit hosts. Peanut Whitehead also sat with the prospects during the game.
