Josh Wiley, a talented JUCO safety from Pearl River (MS) CC, verbally committed to Louisville two weeks ago. But after making an official visit to Southern Mississippi last weekend, the 6'2, 200 pound Wiley wavered on his commitment. In the end, though, Wiley held firm and signed with the Cardinals Wednesday afternoon.

"I'm coming up there to Louisville," Wiley told InsideTheVille.com minutes before his 2:30 scheduled press conference. "It was a tough decision because my family wanted me to stay home but I wanted to get away and make a life for myself and they respect that."

Wiley struggled with his decision after returning from USM Sunday. He felt local pressure to stay home and play for the Golden Eagles but decided that Louisville was the best option for his future.

"I'm going to send in the paperwork after I sign it this afternoon," Wiley said.

Wiley said he had been talking to some anxious Louisville coaches throughout the day on Wednesday about his decision. What was U of L's reaction to Wiley's final decision?

"That's what they wanted to hear. They were ecstatic," said Wiley.

Besides Wiley, Louisville also signed several other junior college players on Wednesday, including; WR Maurice Clark (Saddleback); TE Rock Keys and DB Justin Matthews (Jones County); OL Byron Stingily (ILL); DT Tyler Jessen and LB Chris Campa (Butler). Louisville is also expecting to sign OT Charles Millenbah (Grossmont) this afternoon.
