With the Louisville coach seated along the baseline, the 6'7 Johnson didn't disappoint, scoring 27 points in a win over Holy Cross (La.) to advance to the tournament semifinals on Friday evening.
"I'm used to playing in front of him because he came to one of my games this season and I had a pretty good game," Johnson said. "So it was kind of normal for me. It makes me want to play better when he is there watching."
"I played alright," said Johnson. "I didn't get off to a good start in the first half but my teammates got me involved in the second half."
After the game, Johnson said he planned to pay a visit to Pitino on the Louisville campus in the next two days.
"I'm trying to go over there sometime tomorrow or maybe (Saturday)," Johnson said. "I want to see what the campus is like and see how the atmosphere is."
