John Youboty gave his visit to Louisville high marks and the 6'4, 275-pound three-star defensive lineman is giving the Cardinals strong consideration. With signing day rapidly approaching, Youboty broke down his recruitment with InsideTheVille.com.

"It went very good," Youboty said. "I liked it a lot. They have a new coaching staff up there and the players just got back from break and it was pretty cool. L.T. Walker was my host and I hung out with the players both nights. I felt comfortable and like I fit in there. I'd give the visit a 9."

Youboty plans to make some more visits
before deciding.

While an assistant at California, Ken Delgado was in hot pursuit of the three-star defensive end from Klein, TX. When Delgado joined Steve Kragthorpe's staff at Louisville recently, he made sure Youboty know he was wanted by the Cardinals.

"He was the one that got me interested in Louisville," Youboty said.

Youboty also had an opportunity to meet new Louisville defensive coordinator Ron English on his visit last weekend. "I thought he was cool," Youboty said. "He was a funny guy and we got along well. I really think coach English and coach Delgado have a chance to turn it around pretty quickly."

While Youboty isn't ready to end his recruitment, he is highly interested in Louisville – and wants to continue to learn more about the Cardinals.

"I'm considering them a lot," Youboty said. "I'm trying to research some more and learn more about the program. I'm really interested in them. (Louisville) has a big need for d-ends so that's attracting me there. That's a big factor. I'm sure every player would like a chance to go somewhere and play early and Louisville is one of those places. I think I can go there and get a chance to play early."

Besides his visit to Louisville, Youboty's only other visit was to Nebraska. Nebraska is in the mix but Youboty had this to say about both schools: "I liked Louisville a little bit better because they've got more of a winning program right now," Youboty said. "I don't have a favorite. I'm really just looking right now but I know that I like Louisville a lot."

Next for Youboty – a trip to Tulsa. Trips to two Big XII programs could also be in the works before signing day next month.

"I'm supposed to go to Tulsa next weekend and Missouri just started talking to me and I'm going to try to set something up with Kansas," Youboty said. "I'll probably take two more visits but I'm not sure yet. I'll probably make my decision on signing day."
