Kuric has led his team to a 17-1 record this season and his schools first Southern Indiana Conference title. Memorial clinched the title Tuesday night in a 99-69 win over North (Evansville). Kuric was 12 for 16 from the floor in the game and also grabbed 8 rebounds.
Now, it's on to the playoffs. Last season, Kuric and Memorial lost in the sectional championship game. This season, Kuric is hoping to make it out of sectional play and into regional action.
"Our first goal is to win the sectionals and after that to go to state," Kuric said.
The 6-5 Kuric has made some important strides in his game this season. He also knows there is still work to do before he enrolls at Louisville.
"Improvements I would probably say would be defensively and getting to the rim offensively and getting to the free throw line," Kuric said. "The biggest thing is getting in the weight-room and getting stronger. I lift about three times a week now. Once the season is over I'll get after it even more and work out harder."
Kuric said he's ‘definitely' planning to attend Louisville next season. "I haven't heard much about it," Kuric said of a possible scholarship for next year. "It depends on who leaves. I talk to the (coaches) weekly. I mostly talk to Coach McCarty but sometimes to Coach Pitino."
Kuric said he watches most every Louisville game and made an unofficial visit to see the Cardinals ‘White-Out' game against Georgetown two weeks ago in Freedom Hall.
"It was awesome," Kuric said. "It's a great place to play and a great place to be to watch the game. I usually watch them on TV. They finally got healthy and they're playing real well together. I don't see many teams stopping them right now."
