"Right now my favorites are LSU, Louisville, and Purdue," Assad said. Others including UAB are still in consideration as well. And though he is still waiting on a formal offer from the Louisville coaching staff he identified simply his interest in the UofL program. "Well I like them because they are a big school," he said. Assad is confident that an offer from the Cardinals will come soon.
But Assad is keeping his best poker face when it comes to making a decision. "I am gonna make my decision on the last day, on signing day," he said. When asked if he wanted to make a big production out of his announcement, like say ESPN on signing day he replied, "Nah, I am just gonna wait until then. I am the quiet type just gonna make ‘em sweat."
But one place he is not the quiet type is on the football field. "I was not much of a talker (on the field), but I am now."
And when prompted about what sets him apart from the competition he said confidently, "My speed…and my route running."
So as the summer months come, this recruitment seems to be far from over. "I will be planning some trips this summer, but nothing has been finalized." I guess we will all have to wait and see what comes next.
