Three-star linebacker names favorites

Three-star Chicago (IL) Hubbard linebacker Darius Moffet is a man on the football field. And off the field he is getting serious about his recruitment. Moffet has a few standouts on his list, including Louisville.

Darius Moffet is a big time playmaker for Hubbard HS in Chicago, IL. And to say he was an impact player for his team last season is an understatement.

"Last year I had 102 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 interception, and 2 touchdowns" said Moffett. "I'm a run stopper and I have good hands. My coach likes that I am a leader on the field, and I know where everyone is supposed to be on the field. Like the quarterback on the defense" Moffet continued. And last but definitely not least Moffet added "Oh yeah, I can hit too."

Now that is what you like to hear from a linebacker. And there are plenty of coaches who like it also. As Moffet said he has garnered plenty of interest heading into this summer. And there are four teams at the top of the heap.

"Right now I have interest in the schools that have the most interest in me. This is the University of Illinois, the University of Colorado, the University of Louisville, and the University of Cincinnati."

And when it comes to narrowing things down Darius says there are a couple of things that will play a key role in the decision process.

"At my position I want to see how stacked it is. Will I be on the bench until my junior year, or will I have a chance to play late in my freshman season. Or maybe start as a sophomore. My parents will also help me make the decision" Moffet continued.

And when speaking to Darius about his inspiration or players he looks up to he had an interesting response.

"My inspiration is all the players that have played my position at Hubbard HS. And the most important to me was Justin Hinkle who took me, and showed me the ropes as a freshman. I really look up to him."

Darius says he plans to make a decision prior to the start of his senior year. And of those four previously mentioned Darius has already visited Illinois. And he has also been invited to camp at Colorado. He also plans to take a visit to Louisville but nothing is set in stone as of yet.
