Well not exactly if your name is Patrick White. No not that one, but the do-it-all athlete for the Pickering Central (OH) football team. When asked about his allegiance to OSU Patrick quickly responded "Actually I did not grow up an Ohio State fan, but my dad did play there. I do have a lot of Ohio State fans in my family though."
And when asked if he followed Louisville growing up Patrick had good things to say. "Oh yeah I always saw Louisville as a great pass attack team. They have put out a lot of great receivers. I like them a lot and I was really honored to receive their offer."
Patrick is receiving some big time interest currently and has an impressive list of his current schools. "Right now I have Michigan State, Indiana, Cincinnati, Louisville, West Virginia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Illinois on my current list." Patrick has not been formally offered by Ohio State, Michigan, West Virginia, and Illinois pending further evaluation. And Patrick maintains that he is still wide open as far as favorites go.
White excels on the field on both sides of the ball, and could play either receiver or defensive back in college. When asked which he prefers he had this to say. "No it really does not matter. I feel I can excel at either position, and I will do whatever the coaching staff asks to help the team win." Patrick says that the Louisville coaches are recruiting him as an athlete.
White says he will be hitting the road this summer making some visits and attending some camps as well. "Yeah I will take some visits to Boston College, Louisville, and Indiana. I am also attending camps at West Virginia on the 29th, Illinois on the 16th, and Ohio State's camp this Sunday on the 8th. It's going to be a busy summer" said White with a laugh.
When asked if he will take all his official visits what says he does not think that will be necessary. "I don't think I will let it ride out that long. I think that I will probably make my decision July 25th, or somewhere around there."
Patrick had an outstanding junior season putting up solid numbers on both sides of the ball. "Last year I had 41 catches for 462 yards 3 touchdowns, and on defense 52 tackles 3 interceptions with one interception for a touchdown, and 27 pass breakups" White said. And while Patrick is confident in his receiver skills he says he will continue to work harder on the defensive side of the ball this summer.
